Fellow Winstigators,

Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve been obsessed with burgers.

I’m a firm believer that the best burger you can have is the one that happens to be closest to you; the one you made at home, a greasy double quarter pounder from McDonald’s on a road trip, a gourmet truffle burger at a nice restaurant, something in a foil wrapper from a gas station that may or may not have actually been made out of ground beef but still hit the spot…it doesn’t matter.

That said, I’m assuming some of you saw this on Instagram and on the reddit post from last week:

I’m here to figure out which restaurant has the best burger in Winchester. I’ve tried several and there are some great options out there but I certainly haven’t tried them all. So, I want to hear from the Winstigators as to who has the best burger in town.

Here’s the contest I’ve been cooking (grilling?) up over the past week:

Best Burger In Winchester Contest Rules:

  1. Winstigators are to nominate one restaurant in the form below.

  2. Restaurants nominated must be in Winchester. As much as I love Spelunker’s in Front Royal, it doesn’t qualify for the contest. Maybe next year we’ll do this again and open it up for the rest of the valley, but for now we’re keeping it to Winchester.

  3. Locals only, no chains. I’m sure the Chili’s off Featherbed has a fantastic burger, but I’m looking to highlight local businesses.

  4. Submissions are open until 11:59 pm, June 10th.

  5. The top 5 submissions (restaurants with the most nominations) will be published in next week’s newsletter where Winstigators will be able to vote.

  6. Winning restaurant gets a nice write-up here and a rad trophy🏆 for winning the prestigious “Winchester Wire’s Best Burger” competition for 2025.
