Hey Winstigators,

Last week I finally did something I’d been meaning to do: grab lunch from Jiffy Sandwich Shoppe. Left to my own devices on a weekday and uninspired by the fridge at Winchester Wire HQ, I called in a club sandwich and fries for pickup.

Located off Boscawen and sitting right next to the Workingman’s Store, Jiffy’s is easy to miss if you’re not looking for it. There are a few tables outside and inside there are a couple booths and a few more tables. I headed to the register in the back where I picked up my order, but not before grabbing one of their homemade oversized cookies that was staring at me from the display case.

Before I could open the styrofoam box, I noticed that it was heavy. Like, heavy. And inside there was the biggest club sandwich I’d ever seen, filling up the box from edge to edge. Size matters when it comes to a sandwich like this, and as big as it was it tasted just as good. A legit 5 star club sandwich paired up with fresh homemade fries that’d make Five Guys sit up and take notes, it was an awesome meal.

I could have one of those sandwiches on a weekly basis but today I tried something else from their extensive menu: the cheeseburger. It’s hard to find a good cheeseburger under 10 bucks anywhere these days but once again they delivered. Served on a potato bun with fresh lettuce and a perfect tomato, the burger was flavorful and cooked to perfection with a great cheese melt. Next time, I might get me two!
