Winchester Wire #010: Burger contest winner, pet adoption and more.

Fellow Winstigators,
The winner of the “Best Burger in Winchester” contest is Vibrissa, narrowly edging out Snow White Grill!
Yesterday, I headed up to Vibrissa to award them a plaque for “Winchester Wire’s Reader’s Choice Award 2025 Best Burger in Winchester” and treated myself to a burger. There are three burger options on the menu, and I went with the “Royale Smash.” Two smashed patties, lettuce, tomato (hold the pickles and onions), perfectly melted American cheese and their homemade burger sauce. The patties were juicy, with that perfect crust every good smashburger should have, cooked just right and lightly seasoned to let the natural flavor of the meat shine through. Tremendous.
It wasn’t a contest about fries but you’d have a hard time finding better fries anywhere else. I got to meet with one of the chefs on staff, Huey, who is a Winchester local. Huey explained that their fries are seasoned with a homemade blend and the base of their burger sauce is made by slowly reducing one of their flagship beers to its most concentrated form. Jesse, the bartender for my visit, was super appreciative and excited to be handed the winning plaque and equally thrilled to share it with Huey and the other chefs in the kitchen. It’s truly a team effort at Vibrissa and the pride they take in their work shines through in every pint poured and every burger served.
Not a burger fan? Huey recommended the street tacos with Al Pastor pulled pork. And if you’re not a carnivore, pies like the Pizza Bianca and Totally Shrooms are a big hit as well as the roasted garlic potato soup.
This is a brewery and restaurant with a mission focused on great beer, delicious food, and a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere…and it shows from the moment you walk in and are greeted by friendly staff to the last sip of your beer and bite of your burger.
